******************** PRESS NOTICE ********************

With the release of "No Apologies" the Modern Roots
band is ready to take its rightful place as one of the
new generation of Soul-Blues groups.
The name refers to the fact that the blues are the
"Roots" of the music we love, but we can't help but
be influenced by the "Modern" times we live in.
Each member has 30+ years of experience in the
music business. This comes thru in the 6 slammin'
originals (trks 1,4,5,7,9,11), the 5 choice covers
(trks 2,3,6,8,10) and the excellent arrangements by
the band.
Guitarist and main songwriter Ken Baker, has a way
with lyrics and the turn of a phrase. They reflect his
take on the time tested subjects of relationships and
self-realization. All filtered through his life and times
in northeastern Ohio.
Jeff Alviani, producer/keyboardist has logged 12
years touring the world (15 countrys) and recording
with"Mississippi Magic"Terry Evans, before returning
to Ohio in '03 to join Modern Roots. He made 5 well-
recieved albums with Evans, which also featured
Ry Cooder and Jim Keltner. His experience and
technical know-how was integral to the completion
of this album.
Drummer John Sineri, guitarist Mike Bugara, and
bass player Denny Wright are all monsters on their
instruments and founding members of Modern Roots.
Their idea, 13 years ago, of a band with a difference,
started one of the most popular and successful acts
on the northeast Ohio blues scene.
All these talents come together to produce a gutsy
blend of blues, soul and jazz, with one foot in the
"Tradition" and the other in the"21st century"!!
